Cooking brats in an air fryer is quick and easy, and it gives them a nicely browned outside without having to fire up a grill. In the video below, I cook Johnsonville brats at 370°F for 8 minutes, flip them, then cook them for another 5 minutes.
Air Fryer Brats: Time and Temperature
For these Johnsonville brats, I set the air fryer to 370°F. I cooked them for 8 minutes on the first side, flipped them, and then cooked them for another 5 minutes. That gave me a total cook time of 13 minutes.
How the Brats Turned Out
At 370°F for 13 minutes total, the brats came out nicely browned on the outside while staying juicy inside. Flipping them after the first 8 minutes helped them cook and brown more evenly instead of leaving one side much darker than the other.
Why I Like Cooking Brats in the Air Fryer
The air fryer has become an easy way for me to cook brats when I don't feel like using the grill. There's very little setup, they brown well, and I can get them cooked in about 13 minutes without having to stand outside watching them.
The Air Fryer I Used
For this video, I used a Proscenic T21 air fryer. That specific model is no longer available on Amazon, but it's the machine I used for the 370°F, 13-minute cooking method shown here.

Final Thoughts
For these Johnsonville brats, 370°F for 8 minutes, followed by a flip and another 5 minutes, worked well for me. They browned nicely and stayed juicy inside, and the air fryer made the whole process quick with very little cleanup. Cooking times can vary between air fryers, so I'd still check the internal temperature before serving. Fresh bratwurst should reach an internal temperature of 160°F.
